These players will have to continually prove their expertise on the field if their goal is to improve video games in the future.

Kene Nwangwu is one the Madden 22's fastest running backs

It's likely that you've seen Iowa State's 2020 campaign and have a good idea that Kene Nwangwu is quick. It didn't matter if it was his kick return in the game against Oklahoma or his touchdown run against West Virginia, it doesn't take a football expert to determine that the runningback has top-of-the-line speed. This speed also translates into the Madden video game.

Madden released the speed ratings on Wednesday for the 2022 version of its running backs. Nwangwu was ranked second in the league. The current Minnesota Vikings running back has an average speed of 94. That's tied with Matt Breida for the second-best rating. Raheem Mostert, San Fransisco 49ers runningback, is the fastest player in this game having a speed rating of 97.

Nwangwu was the first Cyclone to be chosen in the NFL Draft in over a year last May. Nwangwu was informed of his selection and was picked at 119th overall (fourth round) by the Minnesota Vikings. He was selected because of his speed. The running back was accompanied by 30 others NFL players from Ames to take part in Iowa State's pro-day. He ran the 40-yard race at the fastest speed, and finished with the time of 4.29 seconds. To put it in perspective the fact that Nwangwu was ranked 10th for the 40-yard jogging if his official time at the NFL Combine. Also, he did the three-cone exercise in 6.75 seconds and posted 37 inches of vertical.

Iowa State's success in 2020 was majorly due to the 6'1 220-pound running back. Breece Hall praised the senior for being the leader of the running back room and setting the tone for the team. Nwangwu's key 85-yard kick returned in the fourth quarter of Iowa State's 37-30 win over Oklahoma made a difference in shifting the momentum to Iowa State's favour. During his senior season, Nwangwu rushed 61 times for 4 touchdowns and 339 yards.

The Frisco, Texas native signed with Iowa State as a member of the class of 2016. Iowa State was his choice in preference to other offers, which included those from Indiana, Iowa Kansas, Nevada, Nevada, and Northwestern. Pro Football Focus declared Nwangwu as a First-Team Freshman All American kick returner in his debut season. Nwangwu who plays running back, didn't play in 2017 due to a torn Achilles. This injury occurred during the spring of 2017 after his first season as a freshman. He returned in 2018 and was named a Second-Team All-Big 12 selection as a kick returner by the coaches. Nwangwu was the primary kick returner for the team and had an important role in 2019.

The running back retired from Iowa State as the program's record-setting kick return average. His career averaged 26.8 yards per kick return , and he played 92 kickoffs over four seasons. He ended his Iowa State career with 744 yards of rushing, on 143 attempts (5.2 yards per run) and scored four touchdowns.
